Answers
How large is the GAU 2000?
The GAU 2000 is incredibly small when compared to most flight data recorders. The unit is approximately 3.0”x4.6”x6.0” and weighs just over two pounds.
What kind of information does the GAU 2000 collect?
In its standard configuration, the GAU 2000 captures roll, pitch, yaw, latitude, longitude and altitude. Additionally, the GAU 2000 records acceleration, rotation rates and magnetic field strength along the roll, pitch and yaw axis.
Can the GAU 200 be customized to my application?
The GAU 2000 was designed and built to be a flexible platform for gathering and recording all types of data. In addition to all the data it currently gathers, the GAU 2000 can be expanded to accommodate nearly any type of application that requires motion tracking. Appareo is currently working to implement additional functionality including torque monitoring, audio and video recording, telemetry, Health and Usage Monitoring (HUMS) and analog information from engine and gearbox instrumentation.
Is the GAU 2000 ruggedized for use in tough conditions?
The GAU 2000 is built to be tough, inside and out. The internal components of the GAU 200 are protected by a durable mineral-reinforced nylon enclosure for protection from moisture, shock and heat. The internal redundant memory is crash-hardened to protect your valuable data far beyond the capabilities of an average Quick Access Data Recorder. |
